Rick’s Cafe Boatyard is a favorite of many, including myself. My most recent visit was with a client after we had closed on his home. I am always confident the food and service will exceed my expectations.
Whether you want fresh seafood, which they fly in daily or a great steak, Rick’s Cafe Boatyard serves the finest. They also have an excellent lunch menu, which makes it a great place for business luncheons.
The view and ambience can’t be beat. Take an afternoon or warm evening and enjoy the tranquility of outdoor dining and the view of Eagle Creek Reservoir.
Ricks Boatyard is located in Indianapolis off W. 38th @ 4050 Dandy Trail.

On the way to my daughters on Saturday, I stopped by Marsh in Speedway and noticed they are tearing down the old Burger King. They have demolished the exterior down to the original building, revealing a tan colored stone. I have no idea what the new establishment will be. It looks like they will keep some of the original building.
Why do I share this bit of news? 31 years ago when this tan colored stone building was new, I worked there.
Back then, it was The Golden Bear. I met my husband of 28 years there. Now, I am sounding a bit old! Ahhh, the memories………….

Breast Cancer awareness is the key to knowledge, early detection and prevention of this terrible disease which affects way too many women.
In honor of my friend and colleague, Karen George, I want to remind every woman and every man who loves a woman to educate yourself about the symptoms and early detection of breast cancer.
Karen has written a blog, Fighting Breast Cancer, about her battle with stage IV breast cancer. Check it out! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you’ll learn alot about both the emotional and physical roller coaster ride of a woman whose strength is amazing and the family who supports and loves her.
Her and her husband Michael have started a non-profit group, SOMAD (Save Our Mothers and Daughters), with hopes they will have their non profit status by year’s end.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Take care of you!

I am quite fond of an afternoon coffee with an occasional treat. It’s the little break I enjoy some days. One of my favorite coffee stops is Beanzies Gourmet Coffee in Avon. It reminds me of a modern day Cheers; friendly, relaxing and they even remember your name. No Alcohol, though!
When you stop by, tell Alice and Jason, Paula from ReMax sent you.
They’ll treat you like family, even if you don’t mention my name.

Beanzies is located off SR 267, just north of CR 100.

A fabulous place to stop for breakfast or lunch. Alice makes home made biscuits and gravy and cinnamon rolls.

Relax in the fireside room for a truly refreshing break.

Welcome to A Blog About Our Community. This site is under construction for and by Paula Henry, a great agent with ReMax Connection.
What does undressed mean when describing a community, city or neighborhood? Defining a neighborhood through pictures and happenings within the community provides an essence of living there which is transparent, allowing an inside look to the visitor.
Like the MLS provides an inside look into homes, IndyWest Undressed provides an inside look into the communities which make up the western communities of Indianapolis and Hendricks County.
